What To Wear For Headshots
As a professional photographer who has taken countless headshots, I understand that choosing the right outfit can be a bit overwhelming. But don't worry, I'm here to help!
The first thing to keep in mind is that the focus of your headshots should be your face, so you want to choose an outfit that doesn't distract from that. Here are some tips to help you pick the perfect outfit for your headshot session:

Keep it simple: Solid colors work best for headshots because too much pattern or print can be distracting. Avoid busy patterns, logos, or anything that might take attention away from your face. Some pattern can work, but just keep it simple, like polka dots or stripes.

Choose a flattering color: Wear a color that compliments your skin tone and eyes. If you're not sure what color looks best on you, think about what you usually get compliments on or search YouTube for this subject. There are so many videos that teach you how to identify your skin's undertone and what colors compliment that. Neutral colors like black, white, gray, or navy are always a safe bet for anyone.

Dress appropriate to your industry: Think about the industry you're in and what you would wear to work. Dress in a way that represents your profession and the image you want to portray. For example, if you're a lawyer, you might wear a suit or a button up shirt with slacks. However, if you're an artist, you might consider wearing something more casual or something that fits your personality and style.

Make sure it fits well: Your outfit should fit you well and be comfortable to wear. Avoid clothes that are too tight or too loose, as they can be unflattering in photos and they won't represent you well.
Accessorize sparingly: Accessories can be great, but just like patterns, they can be distracting if you have too much. Keep accessories to a minimum so they don't take away from your face. Simple jewelry or a tie can be a nice touch, but avoid anything too flashy.

Grooming matters: Remember that your headshot is a reflection of you, so take the time to make sure you look your best. This includes getting your hair freshly cut and/or colored, cleaning your nails, and making sure your makeup is natural-looking and well-applied. If you are looking for recommendations for hair stylist/makeup artist, I'm happy to help with that.
